Subscription & billing

What needs a subscription, subscribing, renewal, invoices and the Billing user role.

BordersHub has one plan: CAD $100 per organization per month, plus applicable taxes, for your whole team. Open Subscription under Organization in the sidebar. Admins and members with the Billing user role can see it.

What's free and what needs a subscription

Free for everyone, without a subscription:

  • registering your organization and inviting your team;
  • searching the directory and viewing companies' public profiles;
  • filling in your trust profile, uploading evidence, and taking a version through internal review and approval.

Needs an active subscription:

  • Publishing an approved version in Approvals. Until you subscribe, the version stays approved and ready.
  • Trust requests: sending them from a company's profile, and approving, denying, revoking or withdrawing them. Incoming and Outgoing Requests stay visible.
  • Partners and API tokens: you can open them, but nothing there can be changed, and the API refuses existing tokens.
  • A verified website badge.

Subscribing

  1. Open Subscription and choose Subscribe now.
  2. Pay in the secure checkout. Payments are handled by Paddle, our reseller and merchant of record, who emails you the receipt.
  3. The subscription is active straight away, for one month from the day you paid. It renews automatically every month until you turn renewal off.

Renewal, payment method and invoices

  • Turn off automatic renewal keeps everything working until the end of the month you paid for, then the subscription ends. You can turn it back on before then.
  • Billing details & invoices opens Paddle's portal, where you update the card and billing details. Each payment in the history has its PDF invoice.
  • If a payment fails, every page shows a warning and Paddle retries; update the payment method to keep the subscription running.
  • In the last week of a subscription that won't renew, every page shows how many days are left.
  • After it has ended, Subscribe again starts a new month from that day.

When a subscription ends

  • From the first day: publishing, new trust requests, Partners and the API are locked.
  • For 14 days (grace period): your published trust profile, website badge and trust relationships keep working, so a late payment doesn't take you offline. Every page shows how long is left.
  • After the grace period: your profile shows as inactive to other companies, your badge shows "not verified", and your trust relationships are paused both ways (partners can't open your profile, and you can't open theirs). Nothing is deleted or unpublished: subscribe again and everything comes back as it was, without publishing again or new requests.

Subscriptions given by BordersHub

BordersHub may give your organization a subscription, or extend yours, free of charge, or end it early (for example after a chargeback). Each of these is listed in the history and recorded, with the reason, in your Audit Log under Billing.

A suspension doesn't cancel or pause the subscription: its days keep passing while the account is suspended, and it carries on as before when the suspension is lifted.
