Verifying a document

Check a trust profile with its fingerprint or verifiable copy.

Every published trust profile carries a SHA-256 fingerprint and a BordersHub digital signature. Anyone can check a document on the Verify page, without signing in:

  • Enter the fingerprint printed in the document, or
  • open the .verifiable.json file from Download verifiable copy.

Possible results:

  • Authentic: current version. The document is unaltered and is the version the company publishes today.
  • Authentic: no longer current. The document is genuine but has since been replaced or withdrawn; it was valid as of its publication date only.
  • No matching record. The document was altered, never published, or the fingerprint was copied incorrectly. Don't rely on it without confirming with the company.

Verification proves the document is exactly what the company published. It doesn't confirm that the company's own statements are true. Technical teams can also check a copy without BordersHub using standard tools; the Verify page explains how.

If the company's account is currently suspended, the result says so. The record can still be checked, but the company's current trust profile isn't available until the suspension is lifted.
